Jonah’s gerrymandering costume appreciation
Never getting over Jonah admitting the reason he stayed at Cloud 9 for six years was for Amy. The implication that he was so deeply in love with her that the little moments he got to spend with her throughout the day was worth staying at a terrible dead-end job. Even when she was married and a romantic relationship seemed impossible, he stuck around because she made his day better.
And then Amy saying she would wait another six years if there was even a sliver of a chance Jonah would want to be with her again. Despite all the protests and reservations she had about him at the beginning, he made her days so much happier and she would do anything in order to get that happiness back.
Amy and Jonah’s whole thing is that he falls in love at first sight. In the pilot episode, we can see that Jonah falls in love with Amy; this is shown when he steals romantic glances at Amy, and don’t forget that in the first episode, he decorated the store ceiling with glow-in-the-dark stars just so he could show her the beauty in the mundane life of everyday life. Even when Amy told him that she was married, he was still able to develop a close friendship with her. They end up going on fun adventures and sharing personal information about their lives with each other, but throughout the first couple of seasons we can see how Jonah’s feelings grow for Amy romantically, and it's so obvious that he’s PAINFULLY in love with her but couldn’t confess during the first couple of seasons because then he would’ve destroyed Amy and Adams relationship (which wasn’t that great in the first place). Even though Jonah doesn’t interfere in Amy and Adam's relationship, he still gets a little upset at the end of the tornado episode when Amy is talking to Jonah about how he helped calm her down during the tornado and Adam and Emma suddenly come to the store to make sure Amy’s alright. When Amy gets divorced and starts dating again, she ends up sleeping with Tate. When Jonah finds out, we can see he's a little jealous, even though HE HAD A GIRLFRIEND at the time. This just shows that Jonah has always loved Amy from day one and will always love her, which I find incredibly bittersweet because, for one, he has to see the girls he's madly in love with and does all sorts of sweet things for her, like in Video Game Release, when Jonah gets a video game for her that isn't easily accessible. On the other hand, he waited so long to kiss Amy, and even when they were in a relationship, it was very messy (and honestly, if you ask me, it could've been written better). In conclusion, I'm happy they end up together, and I liked how the writers of the show did the whole he falls first trope (even though it was extremely painful to watch).
(I know my grammar and punctuation sucks don’t come for me)
“So it’s not that you’re super jealous and in love with me and want me all to yourself?”
The Inseparables: Are you suggesting that we occasionally stray away from the rulebook?
Treville: No, I'm suggesting that you do not own a copy of the rulebook and if you do, you have certainly never opened it
You cannot have failed to remark, my dear friend, that everyone has his particular kind of drunkenness, sad or gay. My drunkenness is always sad…
